Recycle Time!

Fourth and fifth graders at Will Rogers Elementary wrote these songs with help from Monty Harper during a recent residency, made possible by the Oklahoma Arts Council. The songs were inspired by the City of Stillwater's new curbside recycling program!

Please listen and vote for your favorite below! The class who wrote the winning song will get to make their song into a video and will win a pizza party from the City of Stillwater! The poll closes Wednesday May 8 at 10:00 PM.

Please note: Due to an early glitch in our settings, the song "Recycle the Party" is displaying 70 invalid votes. The glitch is fixed but the votes cannot be removed. We will therefore need to subtract 70 votes from "Recycle the Party" when we determine the winning song.

  1. NOT FAIR! Those are all really great songs. This is going to be sooo hard to choose. You need an "all of the above" option because every one of those classes deserves pizza. Great job!

  2. Thanks, Mike! I know - I can't choose a favorite myself. But I did set it up so that you can vote for more than one, if that helps!

  3. Peo says, "I noticed halfway through 'Recycle Style' is to the tune of 'Gangnam Style' and I just love anything to the tune of 'Gangnam Style' like 'NASA Johnson Style'."

You are very creative with children - yay! This is a timely project with Earth Day just around the corner. The 4th grade class did a nice job and I voted!

Great job, Will Rogers 4th & 5th graders! You all deserve a pizza party. Your songs made me think that recycling is both important and not so hard to do.

I read somewhere on Facebook that we can vote once per day. True?
