Here are some photos from last Wednesday's visit to the McAlester library. They had decorated the audience half of the room to make it feel like you were under the ocean with a great mural along the back wall (photos Lisa? Oh, well...). Lisa says it was very relaxing to just sit there and take it in.
The audience for the first show included a large contingency of three and four year olds from one daycare group. They did so well engaging with me! I changed up the last few songs of the program to help keep them focused and we went for almost an hour!
Here we are during the second show...
Anita always sits right in front and does all the crazy stuff. It sure helps when the staff act as examples for the kids!
We are down to three more days out in July - tomorrow I'll be in Wichita, Saturday the 17th in Duncan, and Thursday the 22nd in Fairfax.
In the meantime, I'm working on my Kickstarter campaign, raising the money to record "Songs From the Science Frontier."
Hey, if you're getting this by email, then you're one of my most engaged fans! How about heading over to Kickstarter right now to make a pledge, or to forward a note to a friend? I need to start building some momentum on the pledges right now. Next week I'll be getting word out to total strangers through some podcast interviews and other efforts. I'd like them to see that my project has some traction - I'd like them to see at least $1000 pledged already. I think that will encourage them to join in.
Oh, and I'd love to get your feedback. If there's anything about the campaign you think I should add or change, please let me know.
Thanks!!
My 6 year old daughter and I were there and she is still singing your 'Silly Silly' song and the Pirate song! The whole family really enjoyed the show. Thank you for a great time!
ReplyDeleteIs there a cd with the songs you sang here in McAlester on it?
Hi Tammy,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your post! I'm glad you enjoyed the show!
"Silly Song" is on the Great Green Squishy Mean Concert CD. "Tropeo the Pirate" is on Take Me to Your Library. Between them, those two CDs have most of the songs I sang.
You can find all my CDs here:

Say hi to your daughter for me!
